Tanzania is among the richest countries in the world in terms of biodiversity. It has the highest abundance of migratory land mammal species in Africa. Its natural resource wealth ranges from the open grasslands of the Serengeti in the north to granite inselbergs and thick woodlands in the south. At the same time, Tanzania remains economically one of the poorest countries in the world, with widespread poverty, particularly in the rural areas. This juxtaposition of human poverty and wealth of biodiversity and habitats creates significant challenges in trying to resolve the trade-offs between conservation and basic human survival.

Therefore, AFRIPEDO was established to fill the gap and to spearhead the movement efforts on advocating environmental conservation and enhancing rural development. AFRINURTURE is growing NGO and is relying on the support of its members and otherdevelopment stakeholders to fulfilling its establishment objectives
